Summary: A secret S.H.I.E.L.D. prison is run by the twisted Warden. Billy, his boyfriend and two others are captured during the early conflict that comes with Civil War. The Warden brutally experiments on Teddy (the boyfriend) while forcing Billy to watch.
[The plane has an air of disrepair. The S.H.I.E.L.D. brand stands out on the walls and floors, and four young heroes lay trussed up on the ground. Three are bound in high tech suppressors, while the fourth's neck is twisted at an unnatural angle.
A man in an ill fitting S.H.I.E.L.D uniform looks over them and expresses his excitement to have new toys and instructs the plane to head for the Cube, a S.H.I.E.L.D. prison.
Once there the three without broken necks are strapped to the walls, while the other is left slumped broken on the floor. The room is bloody, rusty and pieced together. Billy has a contraption surgically attached to him, pinned through sharp prongs in his ears. He's chanting desperately while the Warden continues to cut open Teddy, over and over. He stops to access his tool and he chats idly with Billy as he does so.]
I remember when I was young...
I was obsessed with finding the perfect hiding place. A place where no one could see me. Where I could play my private little games. However I wanted to. There are no rules when you are completely hidden...
And look at me now. Warden of a facility that doesn't exist...given charge of extra-terrestrial criminals with no legal standing in the United States.
Yes, there are laws to protect criminals. But not aliens...We're all invisible here in the cube.

[Billy continues to chant.]

[He approaches Billy and gestures taunting to his ears.]
Your "spells" do not work if you can't hear yourself casting them...with that device implanted you can hear everything but your own voice.

[Billy narrows his eyes and continues]

[Two attendants enter the room.]

[Billy continues to chant in the background, while the Warden looks annoyed and moves to leave.] That cockroach is more trouble than he's worth.
[The attendant looks to the boy still on the ground.]
Sir, the skrull-boy's neck is broken. Should I have the body vaporized?
[Billy chants, and the girl strapped to the wall looks to the broken body with tears in her eyes. The Warden looks dismissive.]
No...I think he's fine there for the moment.

Summary: Threatened by an inter dimensional parasite and wanting to spare his boyfriend from having to kill him to banish her, Billy gives (kid)Loki his powers.
[Loki leans close enough that only Billy can hear.]
Do you want your boyfriend to have to snap your neck to save everyone's lives, Wiccan? Because he doesn't.
[Billy looks guiltily back to Teddy. Teddy meanwhile looks concerned.]
What did he--
[But before Teddy can finish Billy thrusts his hands towards Loki. He closes his eyes and his magic crackles from him into Loki as he encants.]

[Loki grins and looks to his hands crackling with new found power.]
Oh, wow thanks! I thought you were going to be terribly stubborn and I'd have to die here along with anyone else. And you have no idea how disagreeable that'd be.
[Billy reaches for Loki's shoulder.]

[But Loki speaks a word and disappears in a flash, stranding them with no answer.]
Young Avengers Arrested and Rescued from S.H.I.E.L.D. Custody (Civil War) 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Summary: The Young Avengers aren't registered and are picked up for stopping a mugging. Wanting them for the resistance Cap and Falcon rescue them.
[The Young Avengers are each heavily inhibited, being loaded into extremely secure looking vehicles. Each has their hands bound and a heavy metal collar. Billy's is larger than the others, covering his mouth and keeping him from speaking. One they are all loaded up and on their way one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents abruptly ejects his fellow agent, and the sound of screeching tires and metal on metal echoes through the air.
The man reveals himself to be a disguised Falcon, and tears Wiccan's collar away.]
Wiccan, I need you to rustle up one of your teleportation spells. And I need it NOW. Understand?
[Bill and the rest of the team are left struggling to catch up.]
Y-yes, Sir.
[Outside helecopter roters beat and a warning sounds.]
ATTENTION ALL UNITS IN THE GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE AREA! SUSPECTED HJACKING OF S.H.I.E.L.D. BUS ONE! PLEASE ATTEND! I REPEAT: PLEASE ATTEND!
[Billy's brow is drenched with smoke, but Falcon urges him to hurry.]
Would you HURRY up with that FREAKIN SPELL?
[Billy tries to focus.]

[From outside the PA continues to blast.]
LUNATICS ARE GONNA KILL THEMSELVES! BLOCK THE ROAD AND STAND WELL BACK!
ROGER THAT, AIR-SUPPORT!

[The bus skids towards death, crackling magic surrounding it.
It disappears and drags violently before skidding to a halt, upsetting all inside.
The hatch opens and Cassie is the first to speak.]
Oh God. What's happening? Where are we?
[Various heroes greet them and help them out, and Cable's the first to welcome them..]
Congratulations, Children. You just joined the Resistance.
[The other agent is revealed to be Cap, wearing glasses as a disguise. He starts helping Cassie free.]
What...what is this place?
[She looks back at Steve.]
S.H.I.E.L.D. safe house number twenty-three. One of twenty-eight such places peppering the globe and only known to thirty-third-degree S.H.I.E.L.D. officers.
[Teddy cranes his neck.]
And how many of them are there exactly?
Just Nick Fury.
[Daredevil pipes in after Steve, helping Teddy free.]
He's underground now too, and can only be contacted via scrambler-phone, but he said we could use this place for as long as we like, and he's already working on our new secret IDs.
[A bloody Patriot looks confused.]
Why do we need new secret identities?
[Cable smirks.]
Your old ones are probably compromised, Patriot, and you're going to need somewhere to hide when we aren't out there kicking ass and taking names.
[Steve removes his glasses.]
This is where we live for the duration. Tony's crew is planning something huge out there, and this is where we start to fight back.
[Tony Stark appears on a screen of a local broadcast and Moonstone calls out.]
Guys, I think you better see this...
Billy's 1st Suicide Attempt 1 | 2
Summary: Convinced it is the only way to end the spell and save his friends/the world, Billy is about to kill himself when (kid)Loki stops him.
[Billy slips away from the others into the weapon hold of the ship. He turns the light on and finds a small Kree handgun. He picks it up, eying it with detatchment at first.
Then, hand shaking he places the barrel beneath his chin and closes his eyes. A long moment passes and he pulls the gun away, head bowed and eyes squeezing tighter.]
I'm sorry, Teddy.
[He returns the gun under his chin with more resolve, whole body trembling now. His lips are pressed tight and a tear streams down his cheek. He finds his resolve, finger starts to squeeze the trigger-- when at the last possible second Loki appears by magic and pushes his hand away. The gun goes off, and hits the ceiling.
Loki pushes a hand on Billy's shoulder to steady him, whyile Billy's hands go to his face.]
Plan A before Plan B, Billy.
Billy's 2nd Suicide Attempt 1
Summary: Billy is again prepared to end his life to save everyone but Loki tells him it won't end the spell. Billy punches him.
[Billy walks away again, no tears this time, no shaking. He has his hand on the gun when Loki peers in and tries to reason with him, but Billy knows what he's doing.]
Why not? It solves everything. You said it would cancel the spell. I pull the trigger and the problem goes away.]
[The rest of the team files in silently behind Loki, faces twisted with concern.]
Billy, I'm sorry. I lied.
[He spreads his arms and steps closer.]
I was manipulating you into loaning your power, remember? It won't solve anything. I wish there was a solution that easy. I'd take it.
[Billy is silent. Eyes closed and a heavy look on his face and he comes to terms with what Loki's saying. Then, abruptly-- he turns and punches Loki hard across the face, fist glowing with magic and Loki falling.]
Billy Meets the Scarlet Witch 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Summary: Billy is a normal bullied teenager. Following bad beating he meets Wanda Maximoff, his favourite Avenger- the Scarlet Witch. She counsels him, and while he doesn't stand his ground for himself he does for the person who takes his place. His powers emerge for the first time and he nearly kills someone. (Note: Memory can either be of the two separate incidence, or of Billy recounting the story in full to Jessica Jones.)
Meeting Wanda:
[Billy sits in front of the gates of Avenger's Mansion. The logo looms large and red leaves fall around him. His head hangs, quiet, and he sports a fresh look black eye and nose that's slowly dripping blood.
A woman dressed in red stops in front of him, hood up and concealing her face.]
...Are you all right?
[Billy doesn't look up, he just moves his bag featuring a prominent Avengers emblem.]
I'll be okay. Thanks.
[The woman lowers her hood.]
You're bleeding.
[Billy touches his thumb to his nose to find she's right.]
Sorry. I thought it stopped.
[He wipes at it absently.]
What happened?
[He still doesn't look up.]
I kinda got punched in the face repeatedly.
[The woman pulls out a handkerchief.]
Why?
[He shrugs.]
Because I'm...different.
[She looks him over.]
A mutant?
[He snorts.]
I wish.
[She takes his chin and guides him to look at her, a comforting hand on his shoulder.]
No, you don't. Believe me... Being a mutant only makes people want to punch you more.
[Billy takes her in for the first time and his breath is taken away.]
Oh, my god...you're... ...The Scarlet Witch. You're my favorite Avenger. I can't believe I just said that out loud.]
[She smiles.]
Don't worry...I won't tell Iron Man if you won't.
[He collects his things and they start walking.]
So, when you see this bully at school tomorrow, what are you going to do?
[Billy answers quickly.]
Run as quickly as possible in the other direction.
[She shoots him a look.]
No, you're going to stand your ground. Show him you're not afraid.
[Billy matches the look.]
But I am afraid. If I had powers--
[She stops him.]
You do. Everyone has some gift-- something they do better than anyone else.
[Billy looks skeptical.]
I don't think my keen analytical skills are any match for John Kesler's simian strength, so I plan to stay out of his way.
[Wanda holds firm.]
In my experience... ...the more we do what other people want us to, the more we get into trouble. Be yourself, and the Keslers of the world can't touch you.
[She gestures to his heart and Billy replies with a sarcastic smile.]
Despite all physical evidence to the contrary.
[Wanda taps him gently on the nose and he looks as those he's never been hit.]
What physical evidence?
[She gives him a parting kiss on the cheek and he hugs his backpack uncertainly.]
Stand your ground. See what happens.
First Powers:
[Billy walks through the halls, looking carefully for the bullies he's been avoiding. He sees that they've found a new victem in his absence. One holds a boy round the neck, while another larger boy hits him. Billy stops and speaks up where the others are silent.]
Get away from him, Kesler.
[The hulking boy shoves his fist threateningly in Billy's face, less than a foot between them.]
Why? Is he your boyfriend, Kaplan?
[Billy eyes the fist, but quickly snaps back despite the look of fear on his face.]
Is that your way of asking if I'm single? Cause you're really not my type.
[In one swift move Kesler has Billy flat on his back in the middle of the hall.]
What did you say to me?
[Billy's eyes narrow and glow fiercely.]
I said, get away.
[Kesler throws a punch and Billy's hand jumps to catch it. There's a flash of lightening that seems to jump from Billy to Kesler, and the bully is throw back hard enough to wrench locker doors off their hinges. Billy stands horrified for a moment, eyes still glowing and lightening flickering from his fingertips. His schoolmates stand around in stunned silence, Kessler doubled over, and his friend still unsure.
Coming to his senses, the lightening fades and Billy runs. He runs all the way back to Avengers Mansion, but its a different place than it was before. The mansion is empty, Avengers disassembled. Billy sits in front of the gates, lost, and then a figure catches his attention, a suit of armor, similiar to Iron Man.]
...Are you all right?
Billy Makes Loki 1 | 2 | 3
Summary: Out of options, Billy and Loki reveal their plan to age Loki up so that he might be able to make use of Billy's raw power. Many possible Lokis are seen, including the MCU one, before a young adult Loki is created.
[Loki palms his chin in consideration.]
I think we need to advance the backup plan.
[Kate looks between the two of them, this is clearly the first she's heard of it.]
Whar's he talking about?
[Billy rubs his eye.]
With my power locked up in the magic I'm trying to dispel, I just don't have enough raw power with my skill...I'm better than I was, but not nearly good enough for that.
Loki could cast the dispel to untether Mother's curse from us...but lacks the magical strength.
[Loki chimes in with the missing piece.]
In this body.
[Billy looks unsure.]
You really think I'm ready for this? It's not as complicated as dealing with Mother but...
[Loki smiles, not looking worried in the least.]
I don't know, faithful student. In more pleasant times that'd probably make it exciting!
[Together they prepare the ritual, sitting in the middle of a circle of smoking candles. Billy begins to chant.]

[Loki floats upwards and his arms catch fire, face twisting in alarm and pain.]
No! No! It hu--
[A multitude of possible Loki's appear, all shapes and sizes, some familiar and some all together foreign. Billy continues to chant, and he and the circle are thrown away by the force of the spell.]

[He looks to him in surprise.]
Loki.
[From the smoke emerges the form of Loki, now grown and a young adult with a cheeky grin.]
Oh, I do believe you're right.
[The team isn't sure what to make of him. Kate looks mildly impressed.]
Okay, now he looks like trouble.
[Billy is all business.]

[Billy's younger, but with that mop of hair it is unmistakably him. He's sitting in an office, feet dangling and bouncing in a bored manner as he waits for his mother. It looks to be her office, but Mrs. Kaplan seems to have stepped out.
There's a loud whoosh and the building seems to quiver. Billy looks up and rather than alarm there's excitement on his face and he rushes to the window. Outside Iron Man streaks by the building, and a second whiz carries Hawkeye on his sky cycle.
Billy beams, palms against the glass and calls excitedly to his mother.]
Mom! Mom, it's them! It's the Avengers!

[Billy's home from school sick. He looks just shy of officially being a teen. His nose is red and he's bundled up on the couch in the living room. His mother sits with him, his head in her lap and she strokes his hair. He might have complained if anyone was there to see, but right now its comforting.
The Sound of Music is on, and both watch, neither speaking, but just enjoying each others company.
Then there's the telltale click of the door, and with it comes the whirlwind of his little brothers, home from school and their father right behind him.
They immediately crawl over Billy, and he groans, struggling to push them off. His annoyed acted is more put on than it seems, and there may be a hint of a smile on his face, despite the muffled cries for help.]
Nn--You're standing on my face.
[Mrs. Kaplan is quick to put a stop to the horse play, pulling the boys off of him, one passed off to her husband and the other perched on her hip.]
Boys. Billy needs his rests. Come on.

[Billy's brow is drenched with smoke, but Falcon urges him to hurry.]

[Billy tries to focus.]

[From outside the PA continues to blast.]
LUNATICS ARE GONNA KILL THEMSELVES! BLOCK THE ROAD AND STAND WELL BACK!
ROGER THAT, AIR-SUPPORT!

[The bus skids towards death, crackling magic surrounding it.
It disappears and drags violently before skidding to a halt, upsetting all inside.
The hatch opens and Cassie is the first to speak.]
Oh God. What's happening? Where are we?
[Various heroes greet them and help them out, and Cable's the first to welcome them..]
Congratulations, Children. You just joined the Resistance.
[The other agent is revealed to be Cap, wearing glasses as a disguise. He starts helping Cassie free.]
What...what is this place?
[She looks back at Steve.]
S.H.I.E.L.D. safe house number twenty-three. One of twenty-eight such places peppering the globe and only known to thirty-third-degree S.H.I.E.L.D. officers.
[Teddy cranes his neck.]
And how many of them are there exactly?
Just Nick Fury.
[Daredevil pipes in after Steve, helping Teddy free.]
He's underground now too, and can only be contacted via scrambler-phone, but he said we could use this place for as long as we like, and he's already working on our new secret IDs.
[A bloody Patriot looks confused.]
Why do we need new secret identities?
[Cable smirks.]
Your old ones are probably compromised, Patriot, and you're going to need somewhere to hide when we aren't out there kicking ass and taking names.
[Steve removes his glasses.]
This is where we live for the duration. Tony's crew is planning something huge out there, and this is where we start to fight back.
[Tony Stark appears on a screen of a local broadcast and Moonstone calls out.]
Guys, I think you better see this...
Billy's 1st Suicide Attempt 1 | 2
Summary: Convinced it is the only way to end the spell and save his friends/the world, Billy is about to kill himself when (kid)Loki stops him.
[Billy slips away from the others into the weapon hold of the ship. He turns the light on and finds a small Kree handgun. He picks it up, eying it with detatchment at first.
Then, hand shaking he places the barrel beneath his chin and closes his eyes. A long moment passes and he pulls the gun away, head bowed and eyes squeezing tighter.]
I'm sorry, Teddy.
[He returns the gun under his chin with more resolve, whole body trembling now. His lips are pressed tight and a tear streams down his cheek. He finds his resolve, finger starts to squeeze the trigger-- when at the last possible second Loki appears by magic and pushes his hand away. The gun goes off, and hits the ceiling.
Loki pushes a hand on Billy's shoulder to steady him, whyile Billy's hands go to his face.]
Plan A before Plan B, Billy.
Billy's 2nd Suicide Attempt 1
Summary: Billy is again prepared to end his life to save everyone but Loki tells him it won't end the spell. Billy punches him.
[Billy walks away again, no tears this time, no shaking. He has his hand on the gun when Loki peers in and tries to reason with him, but Billy knows what he's doing.]
Why not? It solves everything. You said it would cancel the spell. I pull the trigger and the problem goes away.]
[The rest of the team files in silently behind Loki, faces twisted with concern.]
Billy, I'm sorry. I lied.
[He spreads his arms and steps closer.]
I was manipulating you into loaning your power, remember? It won't solve anything. I wish there was a solution that easy. I'd take it.
[Billy is silent. Eyes closed and a heavy look on his face and he comes to terms with what Loki's saying. Then, abruptly-- he turns and punches Loki hard across the face, fist glowing with magic and Loki falling.]
Billy Meets the Scarlet Witch 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Summary: Billy is a normal bullied teenager. Following bad beating he meets Wanda Maximoff, his favourite Avenger- the Scarlet Witch. She counsels him, and while he doesn't stand his ground for himself he does for the person who takes his place. His powers emerge for the first time and he nearly kills someone. (Note: Memory can either be of the two separate incidence, or of Billy recounting the story in full to Jessica Jones.)
Meeting Wanda:
[Billy sits in front of the gates of Avenger's Mansion. The logo looms large and red leaves fall around him. His head hangs, quiet, and he sports a fresh look black eye and nose that's slowly dripping blood.
A woman dressed in red stops in front of him, hood up and concealing her face.]
...Are you all right?
[Billy doesn't look up, he just moves his bag featuring a prominent Avengers emblem.]
I'll be okay. Thanks.
[The woman lowers her hood.]
You're bleeding.
[Billy touches his thumb to his nose to find she's right.]
Sorry. I thought it stopped.
[He wipes at it absently.]
What happened?
[He still doesn't look up.]
I kinda got punched in the face repeatedly.
[The woman pulls out a handkerchief.]
Why?
[He shrugs.]
Because I'm...different.
[She looks him over.]
A mutant?
[He snorts.]
I wish.
[She takes his chin and guides him to look at her, a comforting hand on his shoulder.]
No, you don't. Believe me... Being a mutant only makes people want to punch you more.
[Billy takes her in for the first time and his breath is taken away.]
Oh, my god...you're... ...The Scarlet Witch. You're my favorite Avenger. I can't believe I just said that out loud.]
[She smiles.]
Don't worry...I won't tell Iron Man if you won't.
[He collects his things and they start walking.]
So, when you see this bully at school tomorrow, what are you going to do?
[Billy answers quickly.]
Run as quickly as possible in the other direction.
[She shoots him a look.]
No, you're going to stand your ground. Show him you're not afraid.
[Billy matches the look.]
But I am afraid. If I had powers--
[She stops him.]
You do. Everyone has some gift-- something they do better than anyone else.
[Billy looks skeptical.]
I don't think my keen analytical skills are any match for John Kesler's simian strength, so I plan to stay out of his way.
[Wanda holds firm.]
In my experience... ...the more we do what other people want us to, the more we get into trouble. Be yourself, and the Keslers of the world can't touch you.
[She gestures to his heart and Billy replies with a sarcastic smile.]
Despite all physical evidence to the contrary.
[Wanda taps him gently on the nose and he looks as those he's never been hit.]
What physical evidence?
[She gives him a parting kiss on the cheek and he hugs his backpack uncertainly.]
Stand your ground. See what happens.
First Powers:
[Billy walks through the halls, looking carefully for the bullies he's been avoiding. He sees that they've found a new victem in his absence. One holds a boy round the neck, while another larger boy hits him. Billy stops and speaks up where the others are silent.]
Get away from him, Kesler.
[The hulking boy shoves his fist threateningly in Billy's face, less than a foot between them.]
Why? Is he your boyfriend, Kaplan?
[Billy eyes the fist, but quickly snaps back despite the look of fear on his face.]
Is that your way of asking if I'm single? Cause you're really not my type.
[In one swift move Kesler has Billy flat on his back in the middle of the hall.]
What did you say to me?
[Billy's eyes narrow and glow fiercely.]
I said, get away.
[Kesler throws a punch and Billy's hand jumps to catch it. There's a flash of lightening that seems to jump from Billy to Kesler, and the bully is throw back hard enough to wrench locker doors off their hinges. Billy stands horrified for a moment, eyes still glowing and lightening flickering from his fingertips. His schoolmates stand around in stunned silence, Kessler doubled over, and his friend still unsure.
Coming to his senses, the lightening fades and Billy runs. He runs all the way back to Avengers Mansion, but its a different place than it was before. The mansion is empty, Avengers disassembled. Billy sits in front of the gates, lost, and then a figure catches his attention, a suit of armor, similiar to Iron Man.]
...Are you all right?
Billy Makes Loki 1 | 2 | 3
Summary: Out of options, Billy and Loki reveal their plan to age Loki up so that he might be able to make use of Billy's raw power. Many possible Lokis are seen, including the MCU one, before a young adult Loki is created.
[Loki palms his chin in consideration.]
I think we need to advance the backup plan.
[Kate looks between the two of them, this is clearly the first she's heard of it.]
Whar's he talking about?
[Billy rubs his eye.]
With my power locked up in the magic I'm trying to dispel, I just don't have enough raw power with my skill...I'm better than I was, but not nearly good enough for that.
Loki could cast the dispel to untether Mother's curse from us...but lacks the magical strength.
[Loki chimes in with the missing piece.]
In this body.
[Billy looks unsure.]
You really think I'm ready for this? It's not as complicated as dealing with Mother but...
[Loki smiles, not looking worried in the least.]
I don't know, faithful student. In more pleasant times that'd probably make it exciting!
[Together they prepare the ritual, sitting in the middle of a circle of smoking candles. Billy begins to chant.]
LokiLokiLokiLokiLo--
[Loki floats upwards and his arms catch fire, face twisting in alarm and pain.]
No! No! It hu--
[A multitude of possible Loki's appear, all shapes and sizes, some familiar and some all together foreign. Billy continues to chant, and he and the circle are thrown away by the force of the spell.]
LokiLokiLoki
[He looks to him in surprise.]
Loki.
[From the smoke emerges the form of Loki, now grown and a young adult with a cheeky grin.]
Oh, I do believe you're right.
[The team isn't sure what to make of him. Kate looks mildly impressed.]
Okay, now he looks like trouble.
[Billy is all business.]

Memory 1
[Billy's younger, but with that mop of hair it is unmistakably him. He's sitting in an office, feet dangling and bouncing in a bored manner as he waits for his mother. It looks to be her office, but Mrs. Kaplan seems to have stepped out.
There's a loud whoosh and the building seems to quiver. Billy looks up and rather than alarm there's excitement on his face and he rushes to the window. Outside Iron Man streaks by the building, and a second whiz carries Hawkeye on his sky cycle.
Billy beams, palms against the glass and calls excitedly to his mother.]
Mom! Mom, it's them! It's the Avengers!
Memory 2
[Billy's home from school sick. He looks just shy of officially being a teen. His nose is red and he's bundled up on the couch in the living room. His mother sits with him, his head in her lap and she strokes his hair. He might have complained if anyone was there to see, but right now its comforting.
The Sound of Music is on, and both watch, neither speaking, but just enjoying each others company.
Then there's the telltale click of the door, and with it comes the whirlwind of his little brothers, home from school and their father right behind him.
They immediately crawl over Billy, and he groans, struggling to push them off. His annoyed acted is more put on than it seems, and there may be a hint of a smile on his face, despite the muffled cries for help.]
Nn--You're standing on my face.
[Mrs. Kaplan is quick to put a stop to the horse play, pulling the boys off of him, one passed off to her husband and the other perched on her hip.]
Boys. Billy needs his rests. Come on.
